Jojo is an experienced and skilful milliner who has honed her distinctive style over many years of creating model couture hats.
Originally she trained in furniture design at Leeds, and on completing her MA in 1989 she worked in theatre and retail design.
Always fascinated by hats, she turned her hand to millinery and discovered her true metier, whilst apprenticed to Marina Killery.
Her extensive client portfolio has covered many diverse events; Ascot, Royal Garden Parties, Weddings, Balls, High Sheriffs Tricornes, headpieces for the Lady Mayoress of the city of London, and have been worn as far as the Melbourne Cup, Australia, and Durban, South Africa!
Jojo loves the personal relationship she builds with each client, instilling fun and confidence. Her enthusiasm, energy and attention to detail makes the whole process a thoroughly memorable experience, even for those who are nervous about wearing a hat.
Jojo has an eclectic style, using both traditional and innovative techniques to create unique millinery suitable for each individual occasion.
With couture hats, the client is involved throughout the whole process. Starting with a consultation, trying different shapes, discussing colours and trimming. Followed with a fitting to ensure the final hat is absolutely perfect and make any changes, and finally collecting her millinery confection!
Jojo also offers a unique ‘hat party’ why not gather a group of friends together before Ascot or a family wedding, and with Jojo’s expertise make choosing your hats a social event? Distance no object!
Due to demand her headpieces are available in several shops and in her online boutique. Exact colour matches or adjustments to stock styles are available with consultation.
